Goiânia, October 16, 2017.Barroca Films announces the holding of the 4thedition of the event that makes Goiânia the center of experimental and documentary film. The festival submissions for this edition will open on Thursday (26), to the work of filmmakers all over the world that would like to submit their most recent productions to the competitive programs of the Fronteira Festival.
The main goal of Fronteira is to spread the audiovisual production that challenges the limits of gender, offering new ways of perception and apprehension of the world, with the understanding that the film holds a politic and artistic practice. The Festival also looks for the exhibition of a more radical contemporary cinematographic production not exhibited in major film festival devoted to market and industry, which represents the diversity and richness of the audiovisual world and leads to a glimpse of the future of the film as live, mutating and pulsating art.
To the competitive programs will be accepted films from all over the world, with all lengths that had been accomplished from January 2017 on.Each submittercan enroll as many films as wish, aside from being accepted enrollments from films work-in-progress (that are being assembled or finalized). The enrollments are freeof charge.The films submitted can also be part of non competitive programs.
Bringing to the brazilian publicworld premières, latins and brazilians, it is one important characteristic of the Fronteira, as well as the interaction with prominent filmmakers and personalities of the audiovisual forefront and experimentation, such as Abigail Child(EUA), Sylvain George(FRA),Andrea Tonacci (BRA), Vincent Carelli(BRA) e Boris Lehman(BEL) that were present in the last editions. In 2017 were screened 66 films, between short and long-length, distributed in 30 film shows. The films scheduled for the competitive programs came from 21 countries like EUA, Japan, United Kingdom, Colombia, Bolivia, Lebanon, Qatar, Cambodia, Bulgaria, Philippines, among others.
